trad. google
thank you Gin that's exactly what I wanted.
and so I was able to discover what a dmdpaint.txt looks like.
0 and 1 are generated manually?
if we convert an image or a text with an ascii converter, will we do the same thing? (by selecting only 0 and 1)

Everything I did was 'Manual' (pixel-by-pixel); using 1,2 and 3... ('w', 'e' and 'r' on the keyboard), and '0' is the default DMDPaint background number ('q' on the keyboard) ** Other considerations should include the 'Mask' colour when creating the *.dmdf file **

When converting images - you just have to ensure that the image looks sharp/good enough when being reduced to 4 shades of a colour; and of the correct size - i.e. 128x32 if using as one frame of the animation in the example *.txt file I provided earlier ** The image(s) could then be used in either DMDPaint or Gfx2DMDf **

Also, if you would like to share both the image and ascii *.txt files - I will create a 'test' *.dmdf for you (if have not done so already?).

this splendid explanation should be pinned in the tutorial section

I copied the content and added it to the tutorial at the following location:

I had to add links to Francisco's attachments so you can't see the image without clicking on a link. It appears my user ID will not allow me to add attachments.
