Please let me know who you are, where you come from!
Browsing through life, we have not much time to meet and hang out for real.

So take a minute to make your footprint on my web place :P

Starting with me : Who am I ?
My name is Steve Paradis, I'm a broadcast Designer from Montreal, Canada.
My interests in life are things like Disney land and Universal Studio, Birds, any theme park, casinos, arcades, video games console, movies and special effects....and also my job, which I love very much.

My wife Caroline introduced me to pinball in 2002, because she wanted one in our house... As I wanted a MAME cabinet myself there was not much argueing...

So we bought a Deadly Weapon from Gottlieb, but it lasted only one year as Caroline got tired of it pretty quick. Then I came accross the Future Pinball engine and thought to myself How awesome it would be to have these in a very large screen. in a real size cabinet. There was a version at that time called Ultrapin using Visual Pinball as an engine but it was really expensive for us and quite frankly, being tied to 10 tables would not solve my wife's hunger for pinball in the end.

Beside the Pinball Cabinet, couple of machines I have build.

Since FP had a free adjusting virtual camera, I decided to make a prototype which is still known to be the very first homebrew pinball cabinet made with large LCD screens.

I don't actually remember when the Nanotech commercial version of it
came to the market, but I have built mine in 2004 and the two
are actually not related at all, as far as I know.

I am happy to see that my little delusion made so much follower over the years and wish there is abright future into this so the younger generation can keep the ball rolling.

Hello Steve and all Pinheads! Moogster66 here. I am originally from Ohio, but I live in Indianapolis now. I am married with two beautiful little girls(5,2). My occupation title is "Independent Mechanical Inspector". What I do is similar to an insurance adjuster, except I work for extended warranty companies for cars. I travel all over Indiana and look at failures to vehicles, take pictures, write a report, and answer back to the warranty company. I used to work as a technician on cars, but wanted to find another way of making a living without getting beat up. I play guitar, I have been in bands and done some traveling. I have done some studio recording with my bands as well. I love video games and of course, PINBALL! I started playing pinball at a young age. I had cousins who had a table in their bedroom. They practically had to drag me outta there whenever I would visit! I started playing FP and VP a few years ago, and I am completely hooked. I am glad to a part of this forum, and hope I can contribute. Keep on playin'!

Hello Steve and other forum members,

I am based in Perth and my background does not involve any special visual computer 3d or game developing skills like most of you guys but I do enjoy playing amazing pinball creations.
Occupation is electronics and audio engineering. A part from that I write music scores for games, animations or films by using modern technology, sequencers, VSTs etc…

Cheers,

Nash

They are considered as game of "chance" that you must pay to play (assimilated to gambling machine) and so are forbidden ... I guess

I never heard about a family broken because someone went on a pinball rampage and spend all of the family quarters...leading to bankrupcy or drinking! damn...if this is the real reason, it is kinda silly no? I mean beside making your fingers hurts and make you lose 20$ on a saturday afternoon, what is the worst that could happen?

life is not just..at least for the greek people. :(

Steve

Hey all - I live in the USA near Seattle, WA. I have always loved pinball and grew up (this was in the late 70's/early 80's in a small town in Missouri) going to a small convience store that had old wooden floors and an old EM pinball machine. My brother and I played that while Joan Jett and the Blackhearts "I love rock and roll" played on the jukebox. I don't remember what the game was but pinball became a re-occurring part of my life as I lived in the times of arcades (yeah!). Black Knight, Haunted House were popular at the local air-force base.

Later in high school Funhouse and all the popular SS pins. I have always had a big place in my heart for pinballs. I remember saving up my money to buy a table-top Tomy Astro Shooter pinball*. I loved the pinball construction set for DOS that I ran on my Tandy 1000 computer (x86). Software based pinball games have always been popular to me. I only love ones that seem realistic so the Sierria computer versions I never bought. The Pro-Pinball series really took me in and I bought all of them (I started though with Timeshock).

Now that I have a good job and life I have moved up to buying actual pinball machines. But that is one of 5 other hobbies so I don't like have a full basement full of pins. I have Indiana Jones (Williams), Twilight Zone and Star Wars (Data East).

With regard to computers -- I have been programming software since about 1988 with QuickBasic now I'm onto other languages. While I am an artist I'm not a designer. I know what looks good but I have a hard time creating a new design without having a lot of source material to piece together something.

While I always wished my parents named me Max they instead named me Mark. I named my dog Max and I go on with life :). I'm married and have 1 daughter (four years old). Since I named my dog Max I won't be able to name my kid Max (if we have a son sometime) -- that is the bummer :)

You can call me Max or Mark :)

-mark

Hi Everyone,
I currently live in Ontario, Canada but am originally from California. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Waterloo. Unlike most of the students at the university I don't care much for modern games but prefer the oldies. In particular I love pinball and grew up playing pinball at my local bowling alley while my Mom bowled. I'm hoping to slowly collect everything I need to build my first cabinet by the end of the year.

Cheers,
Jaime
