good news, BUT does the pc need constant internet connection for steam, or can we download the games. I've never used it.

Good news, but there are some questions:
1. Do we have to pay for the game and for each download?
2. Is the game compatible with Windows 8?
3. Is Internet connection required for playing the game?
By the way, except some Gottlieb classics (Black Hole, Central Park, Genie and Big Shot), a pair of decent Bally mid-tech tables (Elvira and the Party Monsters, and Doctor Dude) and two Stern's next-gen tables (Harley Davidson and Ripley's), all the tables shown in Pinball Arcade are from Williams (Monster Bash, Medieval Madness, Arabian Nights, Circus Voltaire, Theater of Magic, Attack from Mars, Star Trek, etc.). Maybe Steam has an alliance with the actual owners of the Williams label...

Typically, there are ways to run steam games offline. The games pricing should reflect existing pinball arcade on other platforms: initial price for 1 to 4 tables, then a price per pack of tables (typically 2 per pack) and that is a-ok with me. What was said before was that win xp, win 7 and win 8 would be targeted, hopefully this will still occur.

Pricing: for those unaware, the original owners of the tables (Williams, Gottlieb, stern, etc), get a percentage, as does Valve and of course Farsight themselves, so don't expect tables to be a buck each. Again, I am a-ok with that.

Yep, Steam does have an offline mode. It's an actual mode which requires a restart etc so it should work well. I'm a huge fan of Steam mostly because when you buy something it can be used cross platform on multiple PC's. That overcomes the one thing I dislike about Pinball Arcade; having to keep buying games for each device I have. I'll get all the tables to support the community but probably won't play any of them unless their cab support is spot on with DMD support and LedWiz etc.

Good news :-)

Unfortunately Pinball Arcade has cost me a fortune over recent months as I own it on XBox 360, PS3, Android and IOS. It's been really painfull having to buy the same tables on multiple platforms but i've had to do it to ensure I could get my fix whilst on the go.

I'll most likely end up picking it up on PC too but it's not going to really help with a Virtual Pinball cab as the number of tables being offered can't match up to what already exists in Future Pinball. It'll be interesting to see how it continues to be developed once the initial batch of tables is released.

How are the physics compared to Future Pinball (2.5 Physics) or Pro Pinball (BRUSA and FJ)?
