Baffle you say? I am trying my best to understand what is going on
so I will try to describe the behavior.

when I start a zed table (Appolo13) via BAM the physic is stellar. Wow impressive during game play.

then if I quit and restart again, the FPS dropped to 7 fps each time I hold any of the flipper
and the ball stutter severely. fps goes back to fine when I release the flippers.

Same thing happen if I put an xml with the name of my table in the BAM's xml folder.
Stutter..stutter..stutter..

If I deleted the xml and relaunch the table to what I assume to be fp generic physic...no more stutter..

So it is like FP/BAm does massive calculation during flippers.SolenoidOn or something...
Really, I cannot wrap my head around this and any help would be appreciated.

Steve

Are you talking about just Apollo 13 or all games? Are talking about only zed games?
The zed games, I believe use "invisible flippers" , so this could be the phantom FPS sucker if it is just certain zed games ?

every game using modified physics (ZED or just XML)
going from 60 fps to 7?! isn't that extreme for 2 hidden flippers?

I think the problem reside somewhere else. I updated my GFX drivers. no luck there.

I benchmark my GFX card (Radeon HD 7670). I know it is in the bottom of the bucket and was wondering if that could be the culprit.

Is this on you new system?

I have an older system, so in Bam I can't use the "new renderer"
Also I get optimal FPS in "compatibility mode"

May not help, but just some ideas

:geek: if restarting doesn't work it could be the program installation. 1st save all your tables and libraries then just Try going to [control panel] uninstalling FP, and re installing FP. :geek: i also recommend installing 1.9 first, then adding the 2.6 FuturePinball.EXE into the C:\games\FuturePinball folder. -------------- then of course re drag your Tables and Libraries..

if problem persists it is your system. but it sounds like a conflict in the program.

:? Oh yes i also left out the golden rule. some games in the new windows run better if you right click and run as Admin.

I know all these ghostMachine, I am not a newbie.

FP is original. Only table doing that are zed and modified physics so please, spare me the conflict with the programs. :)

Ok.. did some more test.

Installed the latest version of BAM 1.2 95 (clean install)
no change, still stuttering.

My actual PC have 8 cores and 16 gig of ram but it seem that the GFX card is not enough so I will wait until my new system arrive next week.

 ok, sorry pal. i only was trying to help solve the flipper problem. those were my only suggestions. hmm. you say it only does it with modified physics. so.. maybe that is what it is. i dono.

my last guess, check the script. do a search for LeftFlipper see if the script has 2 Flipper scripts overlapping i have found that overlapping scripts can cause strange results. :geek: but I'm all out of suggestions.. good luck.
