I will also post this to the Monster Bash WiP

Thanks to NetZzwerg , I now have most of the Color Images for DMD...
There will be some challenges, like overlaying DMD for active scoring and other things

This is a demo of the bride of frankenstein DMD's . I don't have the timing quite right yet , but you get the idea

Are you using images for the color DMD right?

Thanks !
Yes I am using JPG images
The pin2DMD edtor allows exporting of single frame gifs from project files.

Which I then convert to Jpgs and load to an imagelist.

It was great that NetZzwerg allowed me to use his colorizations.

There are some things like score updates etc...that require a regular DMD

So I am combining the two....I will use BAM to scale and move a DMD over top of the overlay to add scoring etc...then make it disappear when I don't need it .

That is the plan anyways.....we'll see how it works.

I remember that Slamt1lt managed to create color DMDs on "Star Wars Death Star Assault". I don't know if there is anything that can be learned from it or not.

I just checked. yes that is how SLAM mods a lot of his tables
An overlay for video clips and an adjacent DMD for score

And this may be the way to go.

What I was thinking instead of an adjacent DMD , have a superimposed DMD at certain times
Like in my first video above at 9 -12 seconds

The advantage of using Bam maybe is instantaneous appearance of DMD (instead of fade in) and scalable from script

I am making steady progress at Colorizing the Monster Bash DMD routine.
Here is what I am currently trying:

1. I imported the Colorized DMD JPG images and assigned them to ImageLists and Overlays.
Only 1,000 frames can be included in an ImageList and so far I have 2,000 Frames !
Therefore i had to use 2 Overlays for 2 ImageLists.
2. I find the coding for overlay routines much easier than for DMD fonts
3. I simply insert the Color Overlay Routine in same location of pre-exiisting DMD one
4. I have 2 overlays and a DMD in same location on translite because they are layered on top of each other (in slightly different layers), I was able to grab each in a very thin "miniplayfield box" . Scaling of Size using BAM works best for overlay and DMD "Miniplayfield Boxes" that are as thin as possible
5. I can easily swap between them using BAM code and it is faster than typical fadein /fadeout code for overlays.
6.Also normally you can't Fadeout/fadein Translite DMD's (only hud DMD's) Bam allows you take move, scale and hide translite DMD's

So Far I have added Colorized DMD's for:
1.Creature
2.Drac
3.Bride
4.Franky
5.Wolfy
6.Mummy
7.MoshPit

I still have to add:
Monsters of Rock
Monster Bash
Dig Animation
ExtraBall
Match Routine
Attract mode
Status Mode
Numerous Stationary images that flag certain things

Thanks Francisco !
I think there are probably 400 more frames or so. :o
So I guess I'll need to phase in a 3rd overlay.

It's a lot of organizing and shuffling images...but at least I didn't have to make the Colored DMD frames (Thanks to NetZzwerg) :D
