Hello everyone!

I researched building a virtual pinball machine a long time ago, but found it financially difficult to go ahead with the project.

Fast forward a few years and things are much better, and I am looking to begin researching again.

I am IT geek by profession, so I am more concerned about the wood working/making of the cabinet more than anything else.

Thanks for reading my first post, and I look forward to enjoying some pinball!

I can get you jump started and give you a list of my favorite tables:

I still list some of Slamt1lt's tables that he removed from his site. I'm not sure what I will do about it.

One word of warning. TPA seems to have a way to make all shots easy. I don't know how they do it. Future Pinball (FP) doesn't really work that way but I think FP is more realistic.

Be sure not to miss my set-up guide which has a link to my BAM guide on step 13:

Of the wide varieties of hobbies I've had over the years, pinball has been one of the most enduring.
After all the local arcades closed in the mid-90s, I had to make do with random arcades I would find while on road trips or playing various emulators over the years (Atari Lynx, Sony PSP, Wii, PS3, and PC). A few years ago, someone let me know the IFPA was still around and I found some local leagues so I get to play pinball on a regular basis again.

Last year, I made a trade with a friend for an old virtual pinball machine that had been sitting in the corner for a few years with an ancient version of VP running on a Core 2 Duo. I saw the promise it had and was amazed at what was happening with the latest releases so I upgraded the computer, added two more monitors, installed a digital plunger and nudge sensors, and built an all new cabinet so I could play the newer games. I guess the machine from my friend was mostly inspiration for what was to come.

With the new updates happening to FP, I've decided to start poking around and looking for more information about it. This forum seems to be a good place to learn more about FP and just to chat about pinball... makes it feel like home.

Welcome Uncle ToyBox,

This is THE place for all things FP. Ravarcade is constantly making upgrades to BAM. The latest addition has been Dynamic Flippers which dramatically improves long standing problems with FP flippers. It captured Slamt1lt's interest and you may want to keep an eye on his site also (see link below). He just published a modification to Jaws which is a fantastic original table that was originally built by Rom.
