Hi everyone, seems I re-enter the virtual pinball world every three years or so to catch up. I spend most of my time over in the MAME realm.
Last time I was here was at the height of the frenzy about Unity 3D Pinball and the great work that entailed with its last release. Thought we had the right mix of FP's 3D and VP's ROM support, alas it wasn't to be apparently and it never was open sourced that I could tell.
Now I'm impressed as ever with the continued work on BAM and pushing FP forward with Slam's tables and George, Gimli, and other's work. I've got a beefy machine and have been experimenting with what cuts down the FPS when using the new renderer, for me and my AMD card, it's turning the Radeon control panel's Anti-aliasing up into the 4 and 8 range. If I do that the FPS drops to 40fps or so. So I'm glad I have a workaround at least there.
I've also discovered VPX since I missed it the last go around. The lighting is and 3D (ish) is great too! I'm scarfing down tables I've missed in the last three years. I've got my FP collection up to date. I see that Popotte has slowed output in the last few years, I loved his EMs and his great playfield redraws.
Ok, looking forward to some more BAM releases going forward. Thanks!
John IV
