After trying many ways to nudge my pinball cabinet I've finally found the perfect element: a joystick!

I've bought a second hand sidewinder joystick (not the freestyle) for 5€

Unmounted the stick and removed the stick buttons.

After that I rotated the joy upside down and removed the 2 springs that make the stick return to the original central position in order to obtain a "dead stick".

Now I've attached an heavy metal ball to the stick so the earth gravity makes the work of the removed springs and center the stick after a shake...

But:
Even if calibrated and tested in FP seems that once shaked the Fp ball moves analogically but doesn't return to his normal movement even if the stick seems to be centred.

So I've remounted springs but not the original springs, I've mounted a shorter and less tight springs to obtain a mix of "dead stick" and classical joystick automatic recenter.

Now when I shake the joy the attached metal ball swings and return to original position perfectly.
Now I need to calibrate forces and deadzone with DXTweak.

Thanx ! I've forgot to say that if u want to adopt this system for nudge you still need a tilt bobs (even with a single contact it's ok) because analog nudge in FP doesn't tilt the pinball.
