Yeah, thanks Gimli, and there's 170 pages in that thread alone. :)

Yeah, some of that code I have no clue about either, it is very hard to understand but then, try figuring out all that vpx stuff.

We don't need to know what the code actually does, we just need to know how to use it, or what to do in our scripts. Using VPX as a example, a lot of it is self contained, the new template for example gives examples like ball and flipper shadows you can just copy and paste, so now everyone has that in their tables.

I think I will grab the demo tables available, and see what I can get to work. Doubt I could explain any of it, but if it works, it works. Swapping textures... hmmm do I have a few ideas on that one... :)

If you download creatures table
And go to script all I did was change the texture name in quotations to the name of the next texture. Again the next texture must already be imported to FP and assigned to any random surface in FP table editor

Even if I do not know it all right, I think Bam has a lot of utilities that can help us.
In my opinion there is no one who is able to make the whole list of Bam commands with simple explanations and attached example. Only Rafal can do it.
We will be able to open a new "Bam Commands" tread where we will all put the commands that we know and have used. If someone does not understand something or wants clarification, he should use another tread.
To start with, I could publish the command to use the magnet. I used it already in "Dragons Keep". George (if you want) could put the command for no limits of the score .... etc.

Greetings

Gianfranco

PS. I repeat my speech also on the tread "Future Pinball 2.0 (idea / project)"

Sounds great
Actually rav has explained everything and gives demo tables, we just need to gather all the links and edit them in a comprehensive Bam how to guide..

I know. Now I'm preparing the function (command): Magnetidfield.
Recovered and pruned the superfluous from those of Rav.
Then I will publish it and I would like to know your opinions
Greetings

If you want to know about xBAM.FixScore and high score overflow. Some scripts require changes to be made before the code will work. The new code in not compatible with the operators like "SetValue" and "AddValue" as it relates to the score (it may be also used for credits or other functions which are OK). It doesn't like the " mod " operator and back slash (\).

Rav explained everything on a separate topic then I posted examples of the tables he changed and sent to me so they would work correctly when we were testing the change.

viewtopic.php?f=86&t=6473

A good feature is that the code still works if you place a single quote before the xBAM.FixScore. It is good because if someone uses a version of BAM before v1.4-183, the line of code just looks like a remark. If the user has an old version of BAM, they won't get an error message because of the code xBAM.FixScore although they will still get overflow at 2 billion points instead of 922 trillion.

It is best to put ' xBAM.FixScore on a separate line by itself and not inside an existing subroutine. I like to add just below "Option Explicit".

I have added a new section to my BAM guide that I called "BAM Tips and Tricks". I have been trying to go though different features, including new features Rav has added. Maybe I will get through all of them at some point. Unfortunately, there is very little coding stuff in there. The guide is mainly for casual users. If you guys think I should add more topics here or do something else, let me know.

George
