I noticed that some guys on this forum are posting things in the French language. I discovered by accident that the Google Chrome web browser has a built in translator. When it detects one of these postings in French, it produces a prompt that asks you if you want to translate. If you say yes, it translates the posting to English on screen. It ends up looking just like a regular posting but with the French changed to English. To be honest, I had been ignoring most of the postings in French although there have been a few where I copied the text to the clip board and pasted it into an online translator. This built in translator is so simple that I will read all their posts now.

I have noticed it may not always automatically produce the prompt to translate. If that happens, you can just right click anywhere on the web page and select "Translate".

If you don't have Google Chrome. It is a free program that you can download here:

Mozilla FireFox also has Translate plugins.

Google Translator for Firefox :: Add-ons for Firefox

S3.Google Translator :: Add-ons for Firefox (I use this and it can translate To or From one language to another and also does TTS)

Most web browsers can do translations.
La plupart des navigateurs Web peuvent faire des traductions.
La mayoría de los navegadores web pueden hacer traducciones.

I found several hundred addons for Firefox translators. I tried the one you use and clicked on "Translate the page" on a page in the forum where there was some text in French. It didn't do anything I guess because there is English on the page too. I selected the text that was in French and then clicked on "Translate Selected Text". It put the translation in a new window.

I like the way Chrome does it better. It replaces any French on the page with English without opening a new window.

I have also noticed that grammatically correct, full sentences translate more accurately.

I just translate (in french) this thread using Google and I just laugh. But, if you don't know anything in french (or anglish), it's better than nothing at all.

I have recently found a 64 bit version of Google Chrome. It has the same built in translator that I like and is faster than the 32 bit version. I like it although I have read that some of the extensions are not available yet. I use AdBlock, Zoomy and Freemake Video Converter with the 64 bit version version without any problem.
