First post: Place holder for feautre list of next pinball-sim-editor.

[editor]
- [?-] No schematic view in editor. Instead real view how it looks in game from game-engine, with real time visible effects of table modification: adding/moving objects, changing params.
- [?+] 2 table views in editor: schematic + game-engine
- [?] common for all objects params and feature like: reflection tag
- [?] one universal "object" type to create all other table elements: fippers, bumpers,...
- [?] libs of objects, and per object defined: 3d model, physics model, min-script, default texture
- [?] objects visible on screen displayed in exacly same size as real one
- [?] vector graphics (svg file format) used to store textures (used by engine after rasterization)

[scripts]
- [?] Extensible scripts from "plugins/extensions"
- [?] Scripts for custom-defined objects attached to object-definition. Objects with own "min" scripts
- [?] MS VBScript + MS JavaScript
- [?+] Google V8 JavaScript engine
- [?] Change object and enviroment physics params from script
- [?] Creation of COM objects in scripts

[physics]
- [?] No physisc rules or objects in editor/game program. All (or as muche as posible) physics & models in table.
- [?] common for all table object ability to define physics model and params
- [?] ability to modify physics params of single object
- [?++] Bulitphysics as engine
- [? new] "Drift" game style in editor: record, rollback, playback, speed change to quicly edit physics params and objects placment to check modifications effects.

[engine]
- [+] PNG support
- [?] video as source for texture, video to texture

[music/sound]
- [+] MP3/OGG support
- [?+] FLAC

---------------------------
[category]
- [?] - posible feature - to discusion
- [+] - we all want this.
- [?-] - vote for NO
- [?+] - vote for YES

=====================
Work in progress on new engine - progress report:

[Done]
+ texture formats: jpg, png, tga, bmp
+ basic vbs/js script engine

[Now work on]
- asymmetric frustum (here know as BAM view), easy transformation to standard 3D game view and easy good quality stereo 3D
- import/load of multiple 3d models formats with animations (based on http://assimp.sourceforge.net/) ~30 supported file formats

Real topic.

What do You want in pinball-sim-editor.

------

Rules of dicussion.
1. Read first what is in First Post - here will be added features.
2. Don't add lists of features. One post -> One feautre -> Disusion -> Next feature.

First problem:
Diffrent FP version with diffrent physic rules (and now diffrent objects inside FP.exe) force to create multiple version of same table.

My proposal:
All objects in game and rules/params of physics should be inside table defined by Table-Developer.

It is part of game... not editor.

I mean the render...sorry
we also need PNG support. Targa is really heavy. bmp is in my opinion deprecated.

I agree. PNG can replace BMP and TGA.
I think that engine need only 2 texture formts: PNG and JPG.

No... tga must (for me) kept. Bmp could be left and png could be added.
For sound, flac would be a good thing.

or at least mp3... flac for music would drastically increase the file size by 200% for smaller tables.

Yeah I know it is lossless (and certainly for music I prefer it over mp3) but I'm just pointing out the potential size issue :)
